Building a cabin Step 1
The last few days Bax and I have spent building a model of the cabin. The design is to be post and beam with the structure being raised in bents. Here is a picture of the model.
Here back is trimming one of the collar ties,
Next step is figuring out window placement. Here is the northside

I like the plans so far. I've just read through a big part of your blog (for the first time) and I am very excited by what you are doing. In all of our lives, we have reference points or events that are key in the gowth of identity. What you guys are up to this year will provide many of these reference points. Have you heard of lobsticks? They were stripped trees along the side of a river which fur traders and others would use to mark distance, announce an important location, or serve as a drop point. I see your blog entries as lobsticks, and hope you keep up the journaling.
