Finally an update

For those of you who have been anticipating our next adventure stay tuned. Bax and I are getting ready for our rafting trip. We plan to salvage some logs around Stuart Lake right next to Fort St. James, strap them together and float down the Stuart River (the Stuart River is 113 km long), into the Nechako to Prince George (27 km), then down the Fraser for 15 km along the Fraser. I have been doing a lit bit of planning and preparation along with Bax. The raft will be approximately 12 x 20 feet and will be large enough to set the tent on so we can always have a place to camp. The plan is to build the raft Jun 19-21 and set it afloat Jun 22 and hopefully arrive in Red Rock on Jun 30th.

According to the Northwest Brigade Paddling Club guidebook there are three significant rapids sections to this trip. The first section is the Chinlak rapids which is class 2 + and are approximately 5 km long. The next set is on the Nechako the Isle Pierre rapids which are of Class 2 + and then the Whitemud rapids which is Class 2+ or 3.
