Bax & Dad's excellent adventure

One's sense of wonder changes in a place such as this. The scale is so much different when one see's trees over 100' tall. This image reminds me of a small child and their view of their parent so large and powerful. I know that as Baxter get's older this perspective is shifting. He is starting to see my flaws and know that I am not always right. My hope is that during this year he see's himself as having the potential to become as tall and strong as this douglas fir, firmly anchored in the soil so that no storm winds can blow him over. I see this trip as building such a root system
