Day 5

We went for a quick hike when we got up. I then went for a swim in the lake. It was very cold. Then when we packed the bike we found the best system ever. It was packed so well we took a picture of it. The weather on that day of riding was the best we had had yet. We took a detour off the main road to Port Alice, snapped a few pictures and came right back up. We continued our travels and spoke with a camper at a rest stop. He was on his way to the Queen Charlottes. He was very interested in the bike as he had an Aspencade at home. We had a quick granola bar, grabbed some groceries close to Campbell River and had another trecherous ride down a logging road looking for another FS site. This one was even better than the last one. After working hard to get a fire started to cook the smokies for dinner, we got frustrated and pulled out the coleman stove. We ate our supper, read a chapter of ZMM and went to bed. (bax)
