Day 2 continued (really this time)
I need to figure out how to correct the mistakes. Oh well.
We are now entering the high plains. Did I mention that I haven't found the spell check yet. Trees are eminiscent of the Ontario "pecker poles". The terain is covered in rocks and tufts of grass. It appears that fall is a few weeks closer in this region as many of the trees are starting to turn. The reds however are the result of "beetle-mania" in these there parts. The coastal mountains are quickly appearing in the foreground. We skirt around them to the north. We won't actually go over them until we enter Tweedsmuir. The road sign shows we are 200 km from Bella Coola so it is time to look for a campsite. I had previously picked several FS sites and fortunately the first one we found was close to the road and vacant, with a beautiful view of Clearwater Lake. The shore is a bit marshy but we won't have time to swim. Unfortunately I didn't buy additional supplies so we make do and have 2 packages of fettucine noodles and sauce which taste alright. I forget to put on dish soap on the outside of the new pots of Robert's, which is going to make clean up much more problematic. Purhaps we can convince Robert to let us buy them instead of trying to get them clean.
